Lessons From the Golden Arches

I was on my way to an appointment the other day and I realized I was really hungry so I decided to hit the drive-thru.  Wendy’s was right in front of me but there was a huge line so I cut across the parking lot to McDonalds.  As I pulled up to the window I got a little internal nudge to order a fish sandwich.  Now I rarely go to McDonalds in the first place and I can’t remember the last time I ordered fish but when I get that little nudge I know it means something so I went with it.

“One fish sandwich,” I say into the speaker.  And a cheery voice promptly comes back, “just to let you know the fish combo meal is on sale right now for about the price of the sandwich.”

Ah-ha….light goes on!  My intuition knew about that sale :)

So as I drove away with my combo meal, I reflected on how many times I’ve gotten that hint, not followed it and then said, “dang, I should have known!”

Moral of the story….when you get the nudge, follow it….even if you almost never order fish :)
