A New Take on Networking
My personality tends to be a bit introverted so as a business person the idea of “networking” used to make me cringe.
Then a friend of mine, Teri the ReikLadi, offered this definition of networking that completely changed my perception. Teri says:
Networking is lovingly weaving a net
which holds support for each other.
Isn’t that an awesome quote! Now instead of “working a room” or “making contacts” I can meet new friends and make connections that are nurturing and supportive.
And with this new definition business transforms from being “something I do in order to provide money so I can do the stuff I’d rather be doing,” to a way to develop a community, sharing love and support while at the same time providing financial support for me and my family
So how’s your “net of support” looking these days? Is it strong and wide, inviting people in and building a community or is it small and shredded or torn, desperately trying to hold onto what few minnows find their way in?
Try this new definition on for size and let me know how you like it.
Have a great weekend!

Thank you for sharing that definition, Maria! “Networking” (which I never liked much, I admit) sounds so much more positive and appealing when you put it into those words. :)

P.S.: Love the concept of the “manifesting muse”, too!

I LOVE that too! ;-) I’m also an introverted person. I cringe when I absolutely have to talk to people in public (I’m Deaf but can speak and read lips fluently) and would just do about anything to avoid it! ;-) although I do have to admit that I’m working on changing that bit by bit by getting involved in the community where I live on my own and through my sons’ after school activities. ;-) and some days I’m just NOT in the mood to talk but a smile definitely doesn’t hurt or take anything extra out of me! Thanks Maria for your website! It’s awesome! Love the purple and the art – it’s also my favorite and eeriely similar to mine so I knew that I was guided to the right place to give me the extra “push” that I needed for myself to go ahead with what I was thinking of doing! ;-) Thanks again Maria! Have a wonderful day! HUGS & LOVE
