Another Example of Conflicting Desires

Ok so earlier today I wrote about how sometimes you want something but you also resent the very people who have that thing.

Here’s another example of how that might play out:

Let’s say you want a new car.  A a specific car.  A really expensive specific car.  A really expensive and super cool specific car.

So you’re thinking about it and visualizing and watching for it on the road and maybe even test driving it.  You’re all over that car… you really, really WANT it!  With me so far?

Ok so tomorrow morning you pull into the parking lot at work right next to that very car.  You get all excited about it because surely this is another sign from the Universe that your car is on the way!  Then as you walk into your office your boss casually says “happen to notice my NEW car out there today?”  Oooooo!!! Now that goes right through you!  Here you are working your hind end off and this boss… this boss who doesn’t work nearly as hard as you and if you think about it really doesn’t even deserve the position of “boss,”  has sniped “your” car right out from under you!

So immediately your day is ruined.  You’re on a mental tirade about how it isn’t fair that you still don’t have your car while people who don’t work nearly as hard as you know how to take advantage of the system to get whatever they want.  And it’s not just that lousy boss either.  It’s all those rich snobs who like to show off by living in huge houses and driving super expensive (and impractical) cars and vacationing in places you’ll never see in this lifetime.  It’s just not fair!

Ever feel that way?  I know I have before.

Unfortunately it is exactly that type of feeling that KEEPS YOU from getting what you want.  Remember that in Manifesting we have to send a very CLEAR request to the Universe.  And that little scenario above is actually sending out all sorts of conflicting vibes.  So the result is no manifestation.

Get it?

Ok here are some of the vibes you’re sending out:

  1. I want a car… “that” car.
  2. That car is expensive but I deserve it.
  3. I’ve worked hard for this car.

So far so good.  But you’re also sending out these vibes:

  1. People who have cars like that are rich snobs and I hate them.
  2. Only dishonest or unethical people who take advantage of the system drive cars like that.
  3. Omg that guy is totally showing off in that car… what a jerk!

See the conflict?  Based on your thoughts and feelings about other people who have what you want, the Universe cannot give you that car.  Because if you get that car then you will BE everything you hate!

  • You will BE the rich snob driving that car.
  • You will BE dishonest and unethical and take advantage of the system to get that car.
  • You will BE that jerk driving down the highway showing off that new car.

See…. You can’t possibly have it!

Take a few moments to think about this with all your manifesting projects.  How do you feel when others have the thing you want.  Are you happy, appreciative, grateful that someone else has the same excellent taste you do and gets to enjoy the exact same thing?  Or are you jealous and a bit resentful and perhaps even secretly wish (just a little) that they didn’t have it?

You have to get in the place of cheering them on and being genuinely happy for them and totally allowing and supporting them in their new thing.  And then you’ll be in sync with the perfect vibe to bring it’s twin right to you :)
