Which Way Are You Running?
In life there are two directions you can be running – away or toward.
You need to know which direction you’re going because it could make the difference between creating the life you desire and wishing you had created it.
To manifest the life you want you have to be running TOWARD it.
Running AWAY leads to failure, not only in manifesting but in every aspect of life. That’s because we live in a world governed by Law of Attraction which means that avoidance brings more of the same. Good reason not to run away, eh?
So how do you know the difference? Sometimes it’s obvious but other times its subtle and you may not even realize you’re doing it. Here are some examples to make it more clear:
| RUNNING TOWARD | RUNNING AWAY | |
| Getting married because you love someone and want to spend your life together. | Getting Married because you want to get away from someone or because you’re lonely. | |
| Changing jobs because you want to grow, expand, experience new opportunities and move forward in your career. | Changing jobs because you can’t stand your boss, co-workers, work environment or something else about your current job. | |
| Losing weight because you want to feel better, have more energy, be more vibrant, and enjoy life more. | Losing weight because you’re afraid for your health (or maybe even life), because you feel fat & ugly, or to please someone else. | |
| Going to school to pursue new interests and learn about things you’re interested in or because you want to get into a certain career field. | Going to school to prove a point to someone, away from home, or because you feel pressured to do so. | |
| Dressing a certain way because you love the style. | Dressing a certain way to please someone else, because you feel like you have to, or to rebel against someone or something. |

See the differences in motivation?
Now as I said before Law of Attraction plays a part in this but there’s a much more practical reason why you want to run toward rather than away from something.
Look at the “running toward” column again. All of those things are fun, make you feel good, and bring you pleasure and joy. Obviously if you feel good about something you’re going to want to do more of it. It follows then then “running toward” something will lead you in the direction you want to go AND be easy because you’re going to have so much fun doing it. It will energize you and give you momentum to follow through.
Contrast that with the “running away” column. Whenever you feel like you “have” to do something (even if you have good reasons for it), your heart isn’t going to be in it. It will take effort on your part to push yourself through and make yourself do the thing. Even if you are successful, you’ll probably have this little nagging feeling that something isn’t quite right. Over time you may get burned out or begin to resent the thing, and your dissatisfaction will grow. Whew… just describing this feels really heavy to me. Obviously this isn’t a great way to live. And because you don’t want to really do it, it will eventually blow up on you.
Looking at your own life, what are you running away from? Is there a way you can flip that around to run toward something instead?
Think about it and I’ll be back in a couple days with some ideas on how to flip those things around so you can truly start creating a life you love!
